Speech and Language Therapy, Kent and East Sussex
I have a special interest in working with children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and their families. I have many years’ experience working as a speech and language therapist in a range of settings, including nurseries and schools in East Sussex and Kent. I regularly speak at conferences and events as part of my campaigning work advocating for improved autism and mental health services.
I am committed to joint working and my main areas of interest are:
- Autism and social communication difficulties
- Speech sound difficulties
- Cleft Palate
- Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia
- Auditory Processing Disorder
- Attention and listening difficulties
- Language Difficulties
I am trained in many programmes and approaches, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), PECS, Floortime Therapy, Makaton signing, Lidcombe, Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme and TEACHH. For a full list and more about my experience and qualifications, see About Me.
I have written and illustrated several of my own speech therapy resource books for developing speech sounds. Packed full of ideas, activities and games, they are published by Speechmark and available to buy at Speechmark or Amazon, or via the Shop page.
I provide training for both parents and schools and I really enjoy this element of my work. I strive to make my training courses relevant, practical and interactive. I am qualified to run Elklan training packages, for example Speech and Language Therapy support for 5 -11s, and Speech and Language Therapy support for 11 – 16s. You can find out more on the Elklan website.
